Research, Education, & Design (RED) is an LLC specializing in developing human cadaver models to suite medical and surgical education training courses as well as medical device research and development. What sets RED apart is the ability to partner with its clients to develop robust curricula and assessments of learning, accelerating time to expertise and minimizing medical error in living patient procedures.

Services

Vascular Ventilation

Using air as a perfusate provides 3D vascular structures, without the soft tissue bleeding associated with fluid perfusion - perfect for deliberate practice prior to assessment in the surgical simulation. The use of air also significantly increases the longevity of the cadaver compared to fluid perfusion.

Regional Perfusion

Selective perfusion of the extremities enables assessment of multiple teams.

Cadaver Based Simulation

Full and regional perfused cadavers combined with real world injuries and simulated vital signs enable realistic scenarios which lead to higher level assessment of individual and team based cognitive and psychomotor skills.

Device Development

Intravascular and intracardiac (shown) approaches and deployments are made under direct visualization with the use of a borescope and either vascular ventilation or clear, body temperature saline as perfusate.

Cadaver Specialists

Our lab staff are available for contract work to supplement your workforce. Staff function as surgical technicians in addition to ensuring proper cadaver handling from drop-off to pick-up. If surgical exposures are required as part of your course setup our staff are also trained in basic and advanced cadaveric dissection.
